Grounding Planet Earth.

Introduction  

This is an article on Spiritual topic, I hope it finds you well and will help you to find answers to some of your questions and learn something new and useful for your highest good and the highest good of all. Grounding and Connecting with Planet Earth

At some point of our Spiritual Path, when we are becoming more aware about our soul, incarnations, and that we are Spiritual Beings having an Earth experience, it’s common that we sometimes experience ourselves in one of the two ways:

  1. Some people find it hard to feel or recognize that they are Spiritual Beings, Internal Holy Souls, part of the Universe and part of God. This creates difficulties to hear our higher self, intuition, perform spiritual practices (prayers, meditations, work with intention etc.). It prevents us from creating a strong harmonious bond between our personality and our soul.
  2. Other reaction is the opposite – people find it difficult to feel their connection with human part the themselves, their physical body, accepting the material world, (rules, laws, finances) Planet Earth in general. It prevents us from creating a strong harmonious bond between our soul and our current incarnation.

We are Spiritual beings living here and now our current incarnation on planet Earth. It’s a good thing and it is important to find this harmony and become aware of our Spiritual and Human nature. 

This is a big topic to cover, that’s why in this article I will focus on cases, when people are experiencing some difficulties to feel a connection with their physical body and with planet Earth. These difficulties are often accompanied by disbalance in lower chakras (root and sacral chakras in particular), failure to follow rules and struggling with financial aspects of life (savings for example). 

Sometimes, when we are not balanced and not grounded, we may even experience a weird feeling that we are walking, but not exactly touching the ground, or when we lie down, we may feel that we are a little above our own body. This can be a stressful and frightening feeling, especially when we don’t know where it is coming from and how dangerous, if at all, it is. 

In fact, there is no need to fear, our soul is connected with our body and will not fly away from it, even if it might feel so.

So, what can we do to feel more grounded, connected to our own physical body and to this planet?

There are a lot of different techniques, but in this article, I want to start with a few very simple, basic, yet effective techniques that will have their positive impact on you and will help you to be more grounded and aware of your connection with your body and our planet.

  • Everything begins with intention and awareness. That is why making a decision and having an intention that you want your body and soul to be in harmony is a key to begin your journey to this inner balance. Affirmations can be an easy and effective tool to help with this. Here are few examples that I suggest:
    • “I am a human being living my current incarnation on planet Earth. Here and now. I am here and now.”
    • “I am who I am. I am a Spiritual Being living my Earth incarnation on Planet Earth in my physical body. “
    • “I am grateful for my body. I am grateful for this incarnation. I see the beauty of nature. I feel the connection with Planet Earth. I am grateful to be here”
    • “I am one with Planet Earth and the Universe”, “My soul is in my body”

Of course, those are just a few examples for inspiration and you can create and add your own. Remember to keep affirmation as positive statements without negations or negative words such as “no” “not” “nor” and similar.

In addition to affirmation, you can also have a self-talk explaining yourself, and then reminding yourself from time to time, that your soul decided to incarnate because you, on a soul level, need and want this human experience. It’s important for your soul, other incarnated and not incarnated souls of your spiritual family and the Planet.

  • Walking \ standing barefoot on the grass and being focused on your feet are standing on earth and touching the grass. Focus on this feeling of stability that Earth gives you under your feet. Then try to bring your awareness to other things nature gives us: feel the air you are breathing, the wind touching your skin, the warmth of sun, the scents of nature. Hear the wind and the birds singing. Know that you are a part of this Planet. You are a Human being living on planet earth. You are one with this planet. Become aware – Your soul is in your body.  You can also read a few affirmations of your preference at the end of this process.
  • Basic meditative practices, yoga, qigong and other body-soul practices can be also very helpful. I well not talk about it long, but will leave a link to a first basic and effective meditative technique that I recommend to try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXzqsFuiCDE
  • Other simple thing that can help you with being more grounded is having a hobby that has something to do with gardening. You can start from just having a plant (or few) at home. You can buy it or even plant if from the seed. You’ll be taking care of it and it will have a positive impact on your connection with the planet. 
  • Wearing more of red and orange clothing and jewelry with red and orange natural stones can have an additional positive impact. Those are colors of our root and solar chakras (Muladhara and Svadishana chakras) . You can also consider using red and orange stones in your meditations if you feel that it will benefit the process.
  • Another simple thing that can be helpful is eating more root vegetables (carrots, beets, ginger)
  • Last, but not list: you can use aromatherapy to help you to become more grounded and connected to Planet Earth.  Oils of Sandalwood and Cedarwood can be a good fit, and of course Vetiver, because Vetiver oil is mainly made from the roots of the plant. You can take it a step further and use those oils as perfumes or choose perfumes that include those oils, especially if you give your preference to natural oil-based fragrances and not synthetic ones.
